My setup for tonight's #winechat session. Tonight was a #winechat evening on twitter. The wine was provided by @PasternakWine and it was a marvelous hour of tweeting about the Les Charmes white wine. I originally reviewed this French wine on August 1st, see post here , but tonight was an opportunity to share tasting thoughts with a group of fellow wine tweeters and bloggers. We all had the same wine and we all shared our thoughts about the wine using twitter. Can you say fun? Or type while tasting? Although I reviewed this wine in August, I must admit that it has improved since then and is even better today. It remains bright and clean, but a little more complexity has emerged and I thoroughly enjoyed this wine tonight with dinner. The chicken I cooked with fried onions, garlic, lemon juice, salt, a touch of Mesquite seasoning and then a reduction sauce from the drippings with a splash of the les Charmes. It was indeed a charming pairing. And I made many new friends tonight ...

I apologize for the problems with my recent posts. Blogger is having issues with site maintenance... My site is working again, but the last two posts disappeared and were not restored. I have re-posted information about Revelry on Red Mountain and the giveaway for 2 tickets to the event. Follow directions for entering. This will be a very fun event, even if you don't win the free tickets. My post on Bonair Winery is gone. I will have to re-post it too. I was out kayaking on the Columbia River today - will have to do that more often. We have a lovely sunny afternoon in the Columbia Valley today, but it is supposed to rain all weekend. This morning I've been playing around with the new "Dynamic Views" Blogger has enabled. These views require modern browsers such as Internet Explorer 8+, Firefox 3.5+, Chrome or Safari. Many elements of these views will not work should you have an older browser. Blogger currently offers five dynamic views for its public blogs. These views are only accessible if allowed for by the blog author. Me writing blogging and smoking shisha, May 2009 Abu Dhabi. Last year, I read that one of the differences between blogging and journalism, is that a journalist has an editor. An editor would be very helpful at times...just saying. Don't ask me to weigh-in on the "blogging vs journalism" credibility debate. In 2010, I increased my wine blog posts to 69, up from 25 in 2008. This year I hope to exceed those 69 posts. Reaching that goal would be a lot easier with a second pair of eyes helping out. If you have spent any amount of time writing/blogging, then you know what I mean. I welcome your comments when you notice something amiss (palate/palette for example). So far, I blog for fun, not profit. Looking forward to visiting a new, local winery next week. Cha, Cha, Changes... Several changes have gradually taken place on my blog this year. There's the new background image, which I keep tweaking. Then Google enhanced the design/layout tool for blogger - of course I've tried some of the new layouts - of course the new layouts broke some of the Gadgets I use. Oh well.
