Tasting Notes:
Au Bon Climat XXX Anniversary Nuits-Blanches au Bouge Santa Maria VAlley Estate Bottled Chardonnay 2010 - USA.

Color: Straw, pale green highlights.
Nose: Nutty, toast, vanilla, melon and anise.
Palate: Light body, crisp yellow apple, dry, with minerality and apple tannin on the melon finish. An interesting and structured Chardonnay, I would like to cellar this wine and taste it over the next decade. Recommended.

Tasting Notes: 
Seghesio Barolo 2008 - Italy

Pretty color, cherry red with a dark core.
Nose: Cherry floral, with chocolate undertone.
Palate: Dry, tannic, rustic with big backbone, cherry with gingerbread on the finish.
This bad boy needs air or more time in the bottle. It started to shine after 70 minutes with a broader nose and longer finish. At 1.5 hours the nose became a bit meaty with black pepper and cocoa, then licorice, cherry and cocoa on the palate. This is a big wine, decant or hold for three more years. Recommended.

Three Albariños and Several Food Pairings | Taste Rías Baixas

As promised, more reviews of  Albariño wines from Rías Baixas.  My previous post ( My Favorite White Wines this Summer are from DO Rias Baixas ), I emphasized more traditional food pairings, grilled shrimp, Ceviche, and watermelon. This time, I wanted to try some different pairings to see how well Albariño wines would match. I love seafood, but I was curious about the flexibility of this variety. My test pairings began with a series of mini quiche I made at home, spinach, hamburger, tomato, dill and steak. Following are my tastings notes on the wines and the food pairing results.
